Here are a few examples of my work. I have written research papers, client reports, and grant applications, given presentations at conferences, and contributed to a variety of research and consulting projects. For a more complete picture of the work I've done, you can find my resume here.

Projects

Iowa Multiple Species Inventory Monitoring Program - a joint project of Iowa State University and the Iowa Department of Natural Resources that surveys populations of several taxa across the state of Iowa. As a Wildlife Field Technician with MSIM, I conducted surveys of avian, lepidoptern, mammalian, repitle, amphibian, and odonate species. I primarily focused on bird point counts, collecting data on species presence and abundance, and on butterfly transect surveys.

National Aquatic Resources Survey - a program of the US EPA aimed at collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data on the health and quality of our nation's coastal waters, lakes and reservoirs, rivers and streams, and wetlands. As an Ecological Field Technician at EnviroScience, Inc, I assisted with conducting electrofishing surveys, benthic macroinvertebrate surveys, and physical habitat surveys.

Blueprint Columbus - a project of the City of Columbus designed to implement green infrastructure in the city to improve the water quality of the Olentangy and Scioto rivers and reduce flooding and sewer overflow. As a research assistant at The Ohio State University, I assisted with various projects studying the effects of bioretention cells on urban water quality.

My senior capstone project, a group project where we evaluated a wetland for the Shepherd's Corner Ecology Center in Columbus, Ohio and produced a continuing management and education plan.

My presentation on my research project on monarch reproductive habitat in urban areas at the American Ecological Engineering Society conference in Tampa, Florida in June 2023.
